FAQ

  • Is this going to teach me everything about drywall mudding?

No, that would be impossible in such a short beginner course. It will however give you the skills to tackle most of your simple projects around the house or on your job site. When you are done you will understand all about drywall tools and materials, how to apply it correctly to minimize sanding and how to get a nice smooth finish quickly.

  • Is this worth the price

Absolutely. The normal way to learn drywall skills like this is to apprentice for someone for several years during which time you will mostly be doing grunt work and very little learning. I'm going to put you right into the learning phase and also save you from making a lot of the mistakes I made to get where I'm at. It's an investment in your drywall education that will pay you back in many ways.

  • Will you be available to help me with questions

Yes, either myself or another skilled drywall professional will be available to answer your questions in the community chat area or by email.

  • Is it really any better to learn in a course vs from all the YouTube Videos out there?

Ever notice how you just get bits and pieces of drywall mudding skills on YouTube? I truly believe you will learn about 20 times faster and in a much better way by taking a course like this. It's hard to explain in a quick sentence but in these courses I will walk you through every aspect of drywall mudding and in a logical order. On YouTube you will get just bits and pieces leaving you with a lot of questions about can I use this drywall mud instead, et cetera. And by the time you're done with this course you will have learned more than if you had watched months of YouTube videos.

  • Is this delivered all at once?

No, you will get a series of lessons and information right off the bat and then every few days you will get more lessons. The reason is to give you time to absorb the information, put it to use, practice Etc. Trying to learn it all in a few days will not help you as much.

Guy Purcella

Lead Instructor

Hello, my name is Guy Purcella and I am a 40 year drywall professional. I grew up doing drywall as my dad did it most of his life. I spent roughly 20 years doing new construction and the last 20 years running my own business called Mr Patch Drywall where I honed my drywall repair skills, texture matching and business building, creating a successful 5 star rated business. I started a YouTube Channel called That Kilted Guy DIY to pass on my skills and now have over 300,000 subscribers and over 33 million views. I created this drywall academy to further pass on those skills to others who want to quit fighting the process of drywall mudding, texturing and hanging drywall. I look forward to helping you, and getting to know you. Feel free to contact me and let me know the type of training you are looking for.
